Terms of Service

Our agreement with you in simple, friendly terms

Welcome to solidduck!

These Terms of Service explain what we do, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. We've kept things simple and friendly.

Effective Date

These terms are effective as of May 5, 2025. By using our services, you agree to these terms.

Our Services

We offer web design, hosting, and digital services for small businesses. When you work with us, we'll:

  • Design and build your website based on our agreement
  • Maintain and host your site (if included in your package)
  • Provide support according to your chosen plan

Your Part

When working with us, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your business
  • Review and approve design materials promptly
  • Pay for services as outlined in our agreement
  • Obtain proper licenses for any content you provide
  • Use our services in compliance with laws and regulations

Payments

Our relationship with money is straightforward:

  • We'll clearly explain all costs before you commit
  • Payment schedules will be defined in your agreement
  • We offer various payment options as described on our pricing page
  • Late payments may delay project timelines

Website Ownership

Let's be clear about who owns what:

  • You own your content (text, images you provide, etc.)
  • You own your source code when the project is finished or final payment has been made
  • For hosted sites, you maintain the right to transfer your content elsewhere

Our Quality Promise

We take pride in our work and promise to:

  • Deliver services that meet professional standards
  • Apply reasonable care and skill
  • Make corrections to errors at no extra charge
  • Complete projects as outlined in our agreement

However, we can't guarantee specific business outcomes (like increased sales or rankings).

Limitations

A few reasonable boundaries:

  • We're not responsible for third-party services (like payment processors)
  • We're not liable for losses beyond our reasonable control
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us
  • We don't offer refunds for completed work

Project Changes

Sometimes plans change. When they do:

  • Revisions are included in our packages as specified
  • Major changes may require additional costs
  • We'll always discuss changes with you before proceeding

Termination

Either of us can end our agreement if:

  • Either party significantly fails to meet obligations
  • Written notice is provided
  • Payment remains overdue after reasonable notice

If you terminate early, you'll be responsible for work completed up to that point.

Dispute Resolution

If issues arise, we prefer to solve them through friendly conversation rather than formal proceedings. If needed, disputes will be resolved according to the laws of Washington state.

Updates to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes before they take effect.
